Welcome to The Holiday Sanity Blog Tour, featuring 20 days of tips, tools, techniques, and perspectives from me and 19 other fabulous women, all with LOVE and joy this holiday season.
I’m pumped to be a part of this tour! I'm so happy to connect with a group of like-minded coaches that have such a passion for helping others. When Megan Hale & Jenn Scalia shared their vision for this blog tour with me, I knew I wanted to be a part of it because all women can benefit from adding more nurturing, comfort, support, and love during the holidays!
Without further ado, here's my gift guide to support you in getting through your holiday season with ease, grace, and JOY.
The holidays are often a time of overwhelm, overeating, overspending, drama, and stress. Thankfully, it can be another way. Shift your approach for a holistic holiday from start to finish.
By connecting with your unmuted expression (what makes you uniquely you, what you love, and what you value), you get to put yourself back in your holiday and use your time, money, and energy to put more love into our world. How you celebrate, who you're with, and how you shop can all go more smoothly.
Today, I'm talking gifts. To start, set an intention for what you want your gift giving experience to be like, including how you want your recipient to feel. Then, keep in mind how you naturally give love and show appreciation, while also considering how he or she receives love. Now you're set for an unmuted gift exchange!
1) Customized Journal
For a lover of words or a person connected to intuition, a journal is a lovely and thoughtful gift. Make it special by choosing a design unique to them (like an owl if they're obsessed with them) or getting it customized.
There are lots of options at different price points on Etsy, like this adorable $10 owl notebook, or this $85 embroidered option.
2) Crystals/Gemstone Jewelry
If there is a particular area of your loved one's life they've been struggling with or require greater support in, researching what crystals and gemstones can help makes for a much more intentional jewelry gift than a general, "This looks pretty, maybe she'll like it."
Options are abundant on Etsy (or elsewhere). This gorgeous chrysoprase pendant costs you only $48 and brings Divine Truth, joy, happiness, and healing to your loved one.
3) Art Prints
Shopping for a lover of visual arts? Choose a gift with the colors, imagery, words, etc. you know they'll love. Let your intuition guide you here; you know you've found your gift when it's something you might normally share in an email saying, "This is SO you!"
4) An Activity They Love
Personally, I believe the best gifts are experiential. A physical item may end up in somebody's closet or forgotten a year later, while a memorable experience, especially one that's shared, will have a lasting impact. What about planning a hike and brunch, mani/pedis and dinner, a movie marathon, or something else special to them?
5) Book on blurb.com
Take a trip down memory lane by putting together a book representing your relationship, his/her milestones, or what you love about each other. Making a book is such a beautiful experience for both of you: you get to infuse your gift with love and personalized touches, and he or she has a physical touchstone of your love.
6) An Offering From Their Favorite Coach
Talk about a gift that keeps on giving: gifting a private session, a gift card, a spot in a new group course, or some other great offering from their favorite coach is not only thoughtful and unique, but also allows your loved one to keep growing and to be supported by someone else.
7) An Activity They've Been Meaning to Get Back Into
It seems almost all of us have something we used to love and have been meaning to get back into, but we just haven't done it. Whether it's dance classes, art classes, voice lessons, hot yoga, or something else entirely, you get to play the role of cheerleader. Again, it may be even better if it's something you do together.
8) Let Your Love Language Shine
Connect for a moment with the way you most easily and naturally show your love, and if it's something that resonates with them, put it to good use. If words are important to you, write a long, heartfelt letter. If you love giving of your time and energy, offer to do something they've been putting off like cleaning out their closet. You can show your love without spending any money.
9) Remember to Gift to Yourself
To really thrive through your holiday season, it is crucial to gift to yourself. You may even do it more than once. Make it special and make it count. Tune in to what you truly desire that maybe nobody else knows about, or what celebrates you and your growth and accomplishments this year, or what you require to start 2015 from an expansive, loving, abundant space.
Be real with yourself and remember to invest your time, money, and/or energy in a way that's significant and meaningful to you. It may be a 3-day silent retreat at or near your home, a short story collection you've had your eye on all year, the spa package you truly desire and not just the one you tell yourself you can afford.
Just like the gifts you give others, make sure your gift to yourself nourishes you and adds value to your life.
Remember you can always learn more about your unmuted expression by participating in our FREE 7-day virtual soiree, Become Unmuted. The final wave for 2014 starts tomorrow, December 15, so you'll want to get in on this fun before you hear that, "LAST CALL!"
And, hey, if you and your loved ones do it together, you'll know exactly what to gift each other to support your unmuted expression for years to come.
I’ve had a lot of fun connecting to so many amazing coaches who are passionate about helping others, and I’d love for you to have access to the rest of the tour so you catch all the fun from this valuable resource, so make sure you sign up for The Holiday Sanity Blog Tour updates.
